Exploring | Smutwood Peak

Rocky and I made a pinky promise a year ago that we would summit Smutwood Peak when he agreed to help second shoot a wedding for me instead of doing this hike with his wife and sister-in-law. A 4:30 am wake-up call, one synopsis of Game of Thrones, and two moose sightings later, Rocky, Shanelle, and I pulled up to an old logging road and started our trek. This was a tough 20km (especially since this was my very first hike of the season), but getting to that summit made it all worth it. It also helped that I was with one heckin' good hiking crew that made every minute of the trip so much fun. A Saturday well spent in the mountains.

Exploring | Paris & Barcelona

A little over a half a year ago, I half-jokingly suggested to my sister that we should go to Barcelona to go to Primavera Sound (edit: it has been brought up that my sister actually mentioned Primavera Sound earlier than this. I don't remember this but I am assuming she is correct because I have a pretty bad memory). That night we ended up booking flights to Paris. Barcelona and Paris were so photogenic that we ended up walking everywhere just to check out all of the cool street art and alleyways (one day we walked 28 kms and I don't think my legs had ever ached so much). We had some great food, saw some great dogs, and got to listen to some great music. And - Killer Mike gave us a shoutout in the middle of Run the Jewels' set. One heck of a trip.

Ptarmigan Cirque

At the beginning of this hike I expressed my desire for more fog. Fast forward to an hour later and I got all the fog I ever needed plus all the rain that came with it. Regardless, a good morning spent with the best of company.
